Bronze Star Medal Award for Valor

Staff Sergeant Benny Doyce Greene was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V) and Oak Leaf Clusters, for his exemplary gallantry in action. He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Merit for his sustained meritorious service. He served as an Infantryman and was assigned to

East Tennessee State University

We were friends at East Tennessee State University. Benny was one of the good guys and did not deserve to die. I was present at his funeral in North Carolina and my heart was broken by the grief experienced by his family. Rest in Peace, my friend.
