Hello Uncle Benny

We have never met, but you are my uncle. You are missed much and thought of often. You seem to have touched many lives through your journey and I am glad. Your story lives on through our family, my children whom are only 8 and 3 also know about you. We all miss you as I am sure that you know. Even though your life was short lived you have had a big impact on all that once knew you. I hope to meet you at the gates of heaven one day....till then, you are my hero!

Hi Uncle Benny

Although you died right before I was born I was raised with you looking over my shoulder and I wish we had a chance to share a beer and a story or two. I am off for another tour in Iraq and I will keep the flag raised and my honor.

Gone But Never Forgotten

Ben...Although I knew you only a few short months when I was a "newbe" I tried to follow the example you set. Your courageous dedication to duty and your devotion to your fellow Marines and friends was something that I admired and respected.

My friend I think about you often, you are gone but never forgotten.

I know that you rest in peace...God Bless...

In his Uncle's footsteps...

My cousin, SSgt Stephen Johnson has been a marine for 14 years and is on his way to Iraq this week. I know he will leave a message here, now that I have told him about it, but he would surely love to hear about "Uncle Benny". All my life I had heard about him and we visited the traveling wall in Laughlin a couple years ago-what an overwhelming feeling of the sacrifice made there!
Stephen has his Uncle's flag and photo in his home. Our grandfather was also a marine in WWII. I am so thankful and proud of their service and to all of you who served in Viet Nam! THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU!!!! I know you have not heard that enough.
