A childhood friend
Jeff and I grew up together in East Lansing, went to school together, and graduated in the same class. He was my friend forever. The last time I saw him was on a date for New Year's Eve in 1962. At the party he told me he was going to join the military. Even had he known he would die in combat he would have done the same thing. Jeff was an intense man with a fire of patriotism. No one loved his country more than Jeff.
