In Remembrance
An insight into some of the conditions that 2LT Gray experienced can be read in the nonfiction book "Mekong First Light" by Joseph W. Calloway, Jr., published by Presidio Press. We all owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to 2LT Gray and the other members of our military who gave so much.

You're remembered in Sterling, Illinois
I remember talking to David's parents just before I left for Vietnam. They had just lost their son the month before and it was a sad moment assuring them, through their tears, that I would take care of myself.
I had just finished training in the C-123 aircraft and was leaving the next week for SEA.
Very few of us from the Sterling class of 1961 served in Vietnam and David's name is the only one from our class on the school memorial.
I hope you found peace David.
