POW/MIA MUSEUM BRACELET DISPLAY

I am the Curator of the POW/MIA Bracelet Display in the Vietnam Hangar of the Palm Springs Air Museum in Palm Springs, California where we now have more than two thousand bracelets honoring POWs, MIAs and KIAs and would be honored to include your bracelet in our Display should you have one. If you no longer have your bracelet or wish to keep yours or are an immediate family member (spouse, fiancé, sibling, child, grandchild, cousin, niece, nephew, or close friend) I can order one for the Display in your name with funds donated by our Museum visitors.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The many remembrances from your wife Marianne are especially moving and reflect her eternal love for you. It remains my fervent hope you will be returned home after all these years.

I Remember

August 1969 was a month of great happiness and painful tragedy for me. I was married on August 16th of that year and just 13 days later my good friend, classmate, and neighbor directly across from 188 Elm Avenue was killed in action. A memory that will never leave me was meeting and talking with Al’s mother the day my wife and I left for our drive back to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. She described her concern about the dangers Al was facing in Vietnam, and mentioned a dangerous and unnecessary vertical dive an F4 Phantom pilot had recently performed. I did my best to comfort her, and asked that she send Al my regards in her return letter to him. Little did we know that he would perish just a week later on August 29th. Among other things, Al and I mowed neighborhood lawns and walked together across what is now the Albert S. Graf Memorial Bridge on our way to Bogota High. He was a great guy and an outstanding Cross Country runner. I still miss you, Al. May you Rest In Peace.

Remembering

The Moving Wall visited Brattleboro, Vermont last year and I had a chance to finally see it. It is such a wonderful tribute to all. I found Al's name and visited with him for quite a while, remembering all the memories of growing up on Elm Ave. in Bogota, New Jersey. Thank you to all for your sacrifice - rest in peace.
