Man on a Mission
I served with Bob in Vietnam in 4th cag. near Quang Tri. I was sent tad to 2nd. cag outside Danang, I was there 3 weeks and almost was killed at least 5 times, the place was just crawling with gooks. I went back to 4th cag and told Bob what a hell hole that place was and how glad I was to get out of there alive. Bob told me he had to go there because he had a score to settle about a neighbor of his getting killed in Vietnam. I pleaded with him not to go but to no avail. I remember the day and time I heard about Bob, I was crushed when the guy said do you remember Bob Gosselin, he got blown away last week. If any of his family reads this I have pics of Bob, I may go to Montreal to visit his grave. He still owes me 5 bucks from a Stanley Cup hockey bet Montreal vs. Bruins.

Robert, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well my friend and thank you for protecting our freedoms.

NEVER FORGOTTEN
FOREVER REMEMBERED
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul....and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.
