Thank You

I was that young African American battalion Signal Officer when I met you. You found me and counseled me about what to expect and the professionalism I should retain. Your counsel got me through almost 27 years of wearing the uniform. I have visited you on the wall and will make it to Hampton. You were a Man among Men. Thank You Sir.

Fifty-five year later...

Fithy-five years have passed since I received notification in Vietnam that CPT Warren Goss was KIA on 6 December 1968. Shortly thereafter, I escorted his remains home for burial in the presence of family and friends.
The memories of my close friend and brave warrior are indelible.
Continue to Rest in Peace.

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
