Will never forget you

Dear Uncle Rollie, Grandmom always said you would never be forgotten and she was right. Your spirit is everywhere. Those who never met you have only to read about Operation Starlite. It was you who was the crew chief in that amphibious tractor and told your brothers, "We're Marines, we have a job to do." You will live on in the hearts of the family that knew you and in the hearts of your children and grandchildren. You were so proud to be a Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Thank you for your service and for giving your life for our country. Love, your oldest niece, Carol Ann

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Rowland Joseph Adamoli, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Memory

The evening the Marines came to Ashmade St to notify grandmom of your death remains fresh in my mind and always will until the day I die. I am glad that I was with grandmom and carries her name too.
