His platoon was point platoon. They encountered an enemy bunker on the trail. There was a firefight that lasted almost a week. The front of the point platoon was
KIA(3-4men) MANY wounded, took us days to capture that little hill and we moved on after we did. When it was out turn to go first the enemies were either all dead or left the area. Not a good week for us.
