I also have a bracelet of Capt. Kenneth Backus. I had hoped his remains were recovered.

Never Forget

To the relatives of Captain Backus, my wife wore his POW/MIA bracelet for many years during our junior high years. We are now retired and going through boxes in our garage found her bracelet honoring Captain Backus in a chest of her treasured memories.

CAPT. KENNETH BACKUS

Capt. Backus, thank you so much for your service to our country during the Vietnam War. When I was in high school around 1972, I purchased a POW/MIA bracelet inscribed with your name and wore it constantly for many years. I knew nothing about you or your circumstances until 1988 when I visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC and found out that you were still missing. In July 2024 I finally learned that you were presumed lost in a plane crash and that your remains were never recovered. I am so sad and extend my deepest condolences to your loved ones. I will continue to hope and pray for your return to them soon. I am donating my bracelet to the Palm Springs Air Museum as part of a memorial display, but I will never forget you.

Remembering a brother

I was with the 14th air comandos in NhaTrang in 66 an 67. Years later I got the MIA bracelet an I remembered hearing the name back then. All these years, all the memories I've experienced an he's missed. Your in my prayers. I still have the bracelet. Ive heard your pilot was found.
