THE WALL OF FACES

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just one week after your 22nd birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

I knew Dave, Starr and Fred. We were all working out of the 40th Communications Detachment in Danang. We were on several huey missions together. I was angry that I was sent to Dong Ha instead of Quang Ngai. I shocked when I retruned to find that they were gone. I also look for them on the wall replicas. I also found them on the wall in Washington. "I will remember and recover not forget and forgive"

Specialist Four David Lee Gilmor was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his exemplary gallantry in action. He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Merit for his sustained meritorious service. He served as a Military Intelligence Coordinator and was assigned to the 571ST MI DET, 525TH MI GROUP.

Dear Sp4 David Gilmor,
Thank you for your service as a Military Intelligence Coordinator. Merry Christmas. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
