Vaya con dios, amigo

Butch and I were best friends at Madrid High School in Spain in the late 50's--a good guy gone too soon. In rememberance (the Canadian Legion's elegy for the war-dead):

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER

It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters.

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.

Madrid High School remembers...

Bob was a friend and class mate of mine while attending American high school in Madrid, Spain.
At class reunions we all remembered him and the good times we all had over there. What a shame that such a good person had to die so young..... Thank you for serving your country Bob, we miss you....the classes of 1960 to 1963.

Thank You

I am a senior at Gridley high school in central Ill. I want to remember the men that gave their lives in the Vietnam War. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the ultimate price that you paid for me and this country. You gave something to this country that many people could never do, so thank you for everything that you have done. Sincerely, Ben. J

Thank you.

I am a senior at Gridley High School. I just wanted to say thank you for the sacrifice that you made. You died in honor and with reverence. The courage you demonstrated was extremely valuable to the future generations of this great nation. Thanks again for all that you did for fellow Americans.
