You will never be forgotten

Hi Cokie, It's been almost 50 years, but you will never be forgotten. When I think of you I remember things we did when we were little kids. I also remember how angry I was when I heard you had been killed. You should have had your whole life ahead of you. You should have come home, and grown old. That did not happen. But I will never forget you.

I was with him

I was with Colin when he died. We were in the DMZ on hill 200 waiting for choppers to extract us back to the Rockpile. I was the tactical air control man. We started taking heavy artillery incoming from North Vietnam. The third round exploded on the lip of my foxhole seriously wounding 3 men in the foxhole with me. I escaped injury. Colin was running for a foxhole when the round exploded taking shrapnel to the head. I was trying to get his flak jacket off when the doc tried to tend to his wounds. Colin died moments later in my arms
