A Sister's Tribute to Her Brother
My Brother Hosea Dennis Adam, of Monroe, Louisiana, joined the military on September 28, 1965, Stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. From there he was sent to Vietnam and was involved in the Vietnam War. He was only 20 years of age, the only boy in our family, was injured on May 16, 1966 and died on May 18, 1966, his Mother's Birthday.
It was the biggest shock of our lives. Nothing prepared us for it! It broke our heart to lose him, but he did not go alone. A part of us went with him the day God took him home. If tears could build a stairway, and heartaches make a lane, we'd walk our way to Heaven, and bring him back again.
In life we loved him dearly, our only Brother, in death we love him still, in our hearts he holds a place no one could ever fill.
It's been fifty-one years since you have been gone, with no chance to say goodbye. Your tragic end, came swift and fast, and I could not be there to comfort you and hold you in my arms. You were so young~~never having an opportunity to live your life.
I wish I could rewind the clock and have hugged you one more time before you had to go.
In my heart, I hold you close where you will forever remain until my time has come on Earth, when we shall meet again.

Remembering an American Hero
Dear SP4 Hosea Dennis Adam, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
