"My Dog Pepper"
Veterans Day, 1999
Ron,
My dad is a retired school teacher from Tecumseh, MI, and had you in some of his classes. As a little kid, I remember you from the Homecoming float building days. As we were neighbors, I also remember you for taking care of my pet dog "Pepper", when we went away on vacations.
To this day as my family and I pass your parents house in Tecumseh Township on the way to my parents home, I think about the great sacrifice you made in the name of freedom. My country and freedom are important to me. Because of that I have begun to explain to my step kids how important it should be to them.
When they are old enough I will take them to Washington, DC and to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, so that they will learn more about the history of our country, and the sacrifices that were made in the name of freedom.
Your Old Neighbor,
Charles Kevin Gross
