THE WALL OF FACES

Thanks to those of you who wrote "thank you" to Tom Gerg even though you never met him. I knew him well, he was my best buddy in the USMC and he died next to me from an American artillery shell. I think about him frequently and have done so for more than 50 years. I will remember him always. A promising life taken to early and for no good reason.

Dear PFC Thomas Gerg,
Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Tom is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, block 22, lot 29E, 3rd row in from the east (fence) 1st column in from the south end of the section.
