Not Forgotten
David , i never met you yet I feel i know you. I read about you in a book and was struck by the similarites with my own brother Allen Keating.
You both arrived in Viet Nam the same day and you bioth died in almost identical circumstances on 10/19/69. Perhaps in the same battle.
I Read in the book of your poor parents and three sisters and how much your loss effected them. I know their sorrow and loss.
You and your family are in my most private thougts and prayers.
As Allen served as a positive inspiration to his five brothers I hope your loss motivated your siblings to live a full life.
I will always think of you each October. You were an American hero.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 David Paul Babey, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
