Enough

Three days ago, Dec, 17, 2018, Charles would have celebrated his 70th birthday. Our mothers were close sisters. He was an only child but a brother to me. Named my youngest son after him a few months after Charles death. Over the past 50 years since we lost him I have experienced many emotions regarding that war and five close friends who were lost. I have visited them many time at the wall.

Easy to look on the dark side of war and what it has does to this county, but today, I choose to think of Charles and our last adventure before he left for Nam. We are in his red corvette, racing down U. S. 90 west headed for the “Big Easy, (New Orleans), chewing Red Man and listening to his favorite song by the Animals, the House of the Rising Sun.

“Bliss it was in that dawn to be alive,
But to be young was very heaven.”

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Charles Geier,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Happy Thanksgiving. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
