do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Thank you

Although I didn’t know you or your family, I wanted to thank you for your service and pray for your family. Today, I found a balloon in my yard that said your name. (Found in Boone, Iowa) It’s Tuesday, May 28, 2019 following Memorial Day weekend. Although you died young, you obviously made a big impact. Again, thank you for your service and God bless.

THANK YOU

Dear Sp5 Darrell Gehrke,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Happy Thanksgiving. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I Wish I'd Known You......

Dad....how I wish I'd been able to know you...but it's not stopped me from loving you my entire life!! I do have a few very scattered memories, that I've managed to keep hold of, and they've helped me to understand on some small level, a part of who I am. Your death and the why behind it has helped to form many of my adult views in life....I think you'd be proud of me? There were some times that might have been questionable, but I think those are the times where we were most alike? I know you know that I have twins....I've always felt that you had a hand in that somehow? Mostly though....I've always felt you had my 6.....I love you Darrell!
