Captain Maurice Edwin Garrett, Jr. was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V) and Oak Leaf Cluster, for his sustained heroism and meritorious service. You will never be forgotten

My heart is heavy and my whole being hurts when I think of you and remember. I will see you again and hug you for the longest time and cry and release all the emotional pain and sadness I feel whenever I run into something that stirs up your memory from so many years ago.
