If I am correct, as a 11 year old, my job was to wake up the Garner boys and get them off to school. Their mother, like my mother, was a single parent doing their best to keep food on the table. We moved and lost contact with the family. So sorry to hear about Jackie's death in Vietnam. J.L. H. [email protected]

Dear Pvt Jackie Gardner,
Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman. Happy Veterans' Day. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
