YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!

Dear Specialist 4 Gallina ~ You Are Not Forgotten!
This is the 3rd year, on the anniversary of your passing (September 20, 1970), that I ran a mile with you in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace, Dear Brother.

Each year since September 2015, at the annual 5th Division Army reunion, members of the Society of the Fifth Division, U.S Army remember the 514 soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 5th Division, who were Killed in Action in Vietnam. You are among the soldiers remembered. You Are Not Forgotten!

High School

Tony tops the list at every HS reunion of those that can't attend. There was a group of 10 of us "Greaser" through all 4 years. Tony was "The Wop". No insult taken. We self named everyone, The Pollock, The Mick, I was The Kraut, etc. and not a single one of us took offence. Our nicknames were welcomed and we were appreciative of each. But they stayed in our group, outsiders were not allowed to use them. Some of us followed Tony into the Army a few months after he joined.

honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.
