A man remembered
Mike Gallagher was a good man and a good soldier. The man I knew was door-gunner on a chopper with the 281st Aviation Company.
He died trying to save a friend who was missing in action,at the time, in the Ashau Valley. That friend was later retreived alive and well. That friend knew Mike had died trying to save him.
Mike wanted to return home, get an expensive butane lighter for his cigareetes and watch good bands play good music.
Michael Gallagher was a kind and gentle man. He had many friends and we all missed him when he died.

I won't forget you...
Michael was my half brother. A good guy with lots of potential.
He never gave up trying and I know he must have been a very good
soldier. Michael, your life was brief but your effort maximal.
I won't forget you.
— Your sister, Sandy Fox
