Remembering a Cousin

I never met or knew Robert, but my genealogy research revealed that he was my 1st cousin, twice removed. I'm sorry I never got the chance to know you, Bobby.

Thank You

Dear Lt Robert Gall,
Thank you for your service as as an Infantry Officer. Today is All Saints, today is you. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Baseball player

I remember my Dad & Grandfather taking my brothers & I down to watch Bobby play. He had a chance at going pro but wanted to serve his country first. I remember the 2 Marines that came to break the news to Bobby parents. I let them in the building so they could go to the door of the Gall Family. My parents told me that might what had happened. Bobby was older than me but he lived across the hall from me in our apartment building. I will never forget you.
Bobby was my inspiration in Boot Camp. I always said "Good nite Chesty were ever you are" then softly I would say "good nite Bobby where ever you are" Semper Fi my Brother!!
