Remembering An American Hero
Dear PVT Allen Dale Gailey Jr, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Allen Dale Gailey Jr
To the family and friends of Allen Dale Gailey Jr,
In honor of Allen and the ultimate sacrifice he made for our country, I had the privilege of reading his name at 3:16pm on November 8, 2007 at the Viet Nam Memorial Wall in Washington DC in celebration of the 25th anniversary of its dedication. It was with much pride that I was able to do this for his loved ones who were not able to be there for this very notable event.
Allen is no longer with us, but is remembered in the hearts of us who reflect on the sacrifices these brave young men made for the freedom we enjoy today.
May he rest in peace.
