Lewis: You made the Ultimate Sacrifice.

If any Family members or Friends of Lewis reads this I am looking for a picture of him to send to W.DC for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. It would be nice to have a picture to put with is name. Military or H.S. picture will do.

Web site is VVMF. Org/ Wall of Faces.

Thank You Jim Sawmiller

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Lewis Eugene Avery, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Thanks to a Hero

Lewis is always in my mind. Someday I will be able to thank him for saving my life and tell him how sorry I am that he lost his. He was a good man who had a big heart. I think of him at all holidays and days when I am having a good time with friends and family. I am so sorry that he had to miss those things.
