Standing up against bullies
Eugene worked on our family farm. He lived a short distance from the elementary school I attended in Wyocena. One day he was walking by our playground on the way home from high school in Pardeeville when he saw several bullies attacking me with snowballs after they had stolen my art project. Eugene forced the bullies to hastily retreat and recovered my art project. The bullies never bothered me again. Eugene’s character led him to join the Marines to defend our country. Eugene, you will always be remembered by me.
