Thank You
Dear Sgt Thomas Fowler,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. It is Columbus Day weekend, and another national holiday has arrived. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Thomas and I were class mates in high school, I will never forget the one time he and I went on a lenthy hike to a very large abandoned barn. High in the rafters are many pigieon nests. He and I scaled the stud walls to the rafters high at the peek. once there we carefully tip toed from rafter to rafter and began the hunt for the perfectly plump scwab. Thomas had been here before, this is my first. From Thomas I learn this servival hunt. In all honesty I have never eaten a scwab, here Tommy picks 4 plump ones and calls it a day.
I spent my first tour in Long An province in 1969. had i of known that Tommy was in country and not that far from my area, I for sure would have paid my class mate a visit.
