Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Frank Francis Augustine, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

My dear cousin Frankie.
I visited your name at the Wall and I left you a note. It's been so long but dear Frankie I still miss you so much. Your absence has left a huge hole in our family. To this day I wished my husband & children could have met you and know what a terrific man you were. I will never forget the last day we talked. I remember begging you not to go to Vietnam. You told me 'not to worry and that it will be alright. I'll be home as soon as I can.' I promised to write to you and you promised to answer. We left it like that. I knew you didn't want to leave us, but you hadn't any choice. I so love and miss you and I look forward to the day we will all meet again in Heaven.
Hugs & Kisses, your cousin Joyce

I worked and hunted with Frankie
I had the pleasure of working with Frank at Raytheon and along with Bob Oatway and Dick Johannis went to Frank's cabin in Unity, ME to hunt deer. We always had a great time and Bambi was never in danger. I obviously think of him.
