Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP5 Harry B Forbes, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Not forgotten

Harry, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well my friend, and thank you for protecting the freedoms we have today.

CACTI FOREVER

HHC 2/35th Infantry, 3rd Bde, 25th Inf Division.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers, For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother.
And Gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here
And hold their manhoods cheap while any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbors,
and say tomorrow is Saint Crispian;
Then he will strip his sleeve and show his scars.
And say, these wounds I had on Crispin’s day.
Henry V, Act 4 Scene 3, Wm. Shakespeare
