THE WALL OF FACES

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...

I'm sorry that I have not written sooner, I just couldn't find the right words to say.  50 years ago I was in Vietnam, we were all experiencing indescribable pain and loss; I have been thinking about the anniversary now for months.  I have been in the depths of despair internally as I see the same kind of shameless people betray Afghanistan as they betrayed the people of Vietnam.  Once again, political charlatans  have abandoned the honorable in favor of the despicable.  As young people, we sought to leave our nation and world a better place, unfortunately those who have sacrificed for good, don't outlive those who betray and exploit the good.  Jesus said we are to be "the salt of the earth" that means that we as Christians are to be the "preservative" of God's Word (the truth) for future generations in an ever degrading world.  We can't change what has happened, we can't change the world, we can only prepare our offspring for what is coming until Christ returns. I do not like seeing evil prevail, but I know that if I and the people I treasure are His, then when the time comes, they will be His whether I am here or passed.
