do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Grade school heartbreak
6th grade class was decorated and we were getting ready for Christmas break, when the news came to the classroom that Karen's big brother was killed in Vietnam, suddenly the realization swarmed over us, uncertain of why this had to happen to a sweet innocent girl. The rest of us somber and stricken as if it happened to us. Christmas wasn't the same, War what is it good for, will we be at war for the rest of our lives, Do we fight everyday? Im sure that is not what we were put on earth for. This soldiers sacrifice is what provoked me to be more of a human being. God Bless Kevin!
