Not Forgotten

I have not forgotten you. I chair the Adoption Committee for The National League of Families of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action in Southeast Asia. We will always remember the 1,889 Americans still unaccounted for in Southeast Asia and the thousands of others that lost their lives. We will not stop our efforts until all of you are home where you belong.

We need to reach the next generation so that they will carry on when our generation is no longer able. To do so, we are attempting to locate photographs of all the missing. If you are reading this remembrance and have a photo and/or memory of this missing American that you would like to share for our project, please contact me at:

Together again

Richard, your mother is now with you, you are no longer alone. She crossed over November 12, 2002. You can both smile again.

Not Forgotten

I never knew Richard W. Fischer, but he did become a part of my life. While I was attending Texas Tech University, I was involved in Angel Flight which is a support organization for the AFROTC. Every year, the Sabre Flight Drill Team would hold a POW/MIA vigil that lasted around the clock for several days. This is how I got involved. I bought a POW/MIA bracelet and it had Richard's name on it. I have worn this bracelet for many years and it has become a part of my life. A friend of mine had a etching of his name framed for me that hangs in my house. Several years after I received this gift, I was able to visit D.C. myself and was very moved when I was able to see the Wall. Richard Fischer may be missing, but he is not forgotten.
