THE WALL OF FACES

There are 2 "firsts" in my life in which Mickey was a part...I attended my first Cubs game with Uncle "Yucker", Mickey and his brother Patrick. The Milwaukee Braves beat the Cubs 7-4,but Ernie Banks hit a grand slam. Mickey also took me golfing for the very first time as well. I shot a 60something for 9 holes and he told me I did real well. Whether I did well or not is immaterial to the fact that I vividly remember him saying so. Don't recall whether I said so or not at the time but...Thanks Mickey.

I was very young when Mick died so my memories of him are few. Sadly, what I remember the most, is that a glass panel was placed over his casket so he couldn't be touched. That stands out in my mind to this day. I love hearing stories of my brother before his Vietnam days. I'm sure we would have been great friends. Our parents are gone now and I'm comforted by the fact that they are together with Mick once again. The pain they endured over his death was never ending. You were taken too soon Mick. You are loved and will never be forgotten.

We need your help! Since 1986, the students of Lake Central High School in Northwest Indiana have been researching men and women from the State of Indiana who gave their lives in the Vietnam War. We are the researchers for the World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War Memorials located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Of the1621 Vietnam casualties, we have located 1100+ families as of the date of this entry. We are now researching the men and women from the State of Illinois who gave their lives in the Vietnam War. Dear PFC Michael Blake Finn, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
