Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 Lyle Glenn Aston, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Lyle Glenn Aston
Grandpa Lyle, if only i ever had the chance to meet you. I know you were a great person and a wonderful soldier. My family is very honored to have such a hero as you. When i was three years old my mom (your daughter) and my dad and my sister and brother moved to live on the farm that you where raised on with pappy cy, grandma eva, aunt susie, and uncle van. As you may know grandma has passed and so has aunt susie. I bet you are all smiling down on me every second! I wish everyday that i could just have one minute with you. To hold you in a big hug that i never had the chance to give you. But i do promise you this grandpa, one day ill see you in the clouds when they open the gates, and ill give you the biggest hug you've ever gotten. I love you so much grandpa. I hope i have done you proud, because i know i am so very proud of you. Thank you for serving our country, but most of all, thank you for loving your unborn grandchild. I know your watching over me.
