I will never forget you Ringo!!!

I have many fond memories of our days in Kelly H.S. R.O.T.C. where we often talked about going Airborne Ranger and having an Army career. I cherish my memory of our last meeting at LZ English when were in the 173rd Herd! You were a fine young man in school, and a soldiers' soldier in 'Nam. I've worn your KIA bracelet for over 40 yrs, and will continue to do so till I leave this earth! AATW Sir!!!

Thank You

Dear Sp5 Fernando Figeroa,
Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman. Yesterday was Labor Day, and we remember you all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Dear Friend

My sister Zina and I were friends with "Ringo" in high school and after. His amazing smile and exuberant personality is still a memory I treasure. It was such a complicated time. I really didn't understand his enlistment, but tried to support my dear friend. His death was my first exposure to losing someone. It was hard, but made me much more empathetic to other veterans I have met in my life. I still wish there was something I could have said to help him. My heart went out to him...and still does. He was a great guy. I hope his family found peace.
