THE WALL OF FACES

1Lt Robert Asmuth, Jr. is buried at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, New Jersey.

Lt. was my first Platoon Leader with Co C 1/11th Inf of the 5th Inf Div in late January 1970 on the DMZ. I don't know the reason he was replaced and sent down to the Americal Div.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
