RvC neighbor

John’s younger sisters, Anne and Jane, were my older sister, Margie’s best friends. They were in high school when John was killed and were artsy, hippie types of teens who, a few years later, painted flowers on the walls of their Greenwich Village apartment. Their friend (my sister’s boyfriend Charlie C) was an MP stationed overseas who trained German shepherds and my eldest sister’s fiancé was in the Army in VN around the time John was. It was a terrible time. Rest in peace John, take care Anne and Jane.

You are remembered and loved

John, I am honored to read your name on 8 November 2022 at the Vietnam Veterans Wall. The Marines you served with respected you and those who returned home will always remember you. I will read Bruce Allen’s name along with your name on 8 November 2022 and I’ve spoken with MSgt Bob Dambeck’s son. Bob Dambeck’s name and each of the Marines who died with you on 7 July 1967 will be read at the Vietnam Wall Memorial on 8 November. I attended Marianapolis in 67/68 and met your brother Will and some of your classmates at our reunions. I know Father "Caz" thought highly of you and respected your decision to enlist in the Marine Corps. Regrettably "Caz" died from injuries from an auto accident in the early 70s. Bob Pratt speaks very highly of you. Take Care Marine, Semper Fidelis, Dan
