Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from your brother Tony is touching and reflects the anguish experienced by so many who lost loved ones in this war. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us….

You don’t know me, but I recently discovered you served with my dad in 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon, Echo Company, 2/4. One of the few stories he ever talked about was the time he was the lone survivor of his 5 man squad, which caused him survivor’s guilt his entire life. My dad recently died, and I found a hand written paper that describes the events of that tragic day in June ‘67. In that paper, there was a name…Ferguson. It didn’t take long to find you, and I only wished he would have shared the full story when he was with us. To quote the 2/4 motto, you are both Second to None. May you rest in peace Marine.

May those who served never be forgotten. Rest in peace PFC. Ferguson, I salute your brave soul. My heart goes out to you and your family. Semper Fidelis!
