Sorry I let you down. I was your senior corpsman and I didn't want you on that operation. You had already been through so much and were so concerned for your family. I tried. I wish I could have been with you but I did recover and ID you and clean you up.We kicked some reporters off the helocopter to make room. Boy were they pissed.

Fellow combat - corpsman
I last saw Edward at Balboa Hospital, San Diego the day of his graduation. My class was up for call the next 2-weeks thereafter. I was also from El Campo.
We talked briefly inside the main hospital entrance that day and he said he was on the way to El Campo before combat tour.
We were both in a good mood because school was over and we could go back to Texas for a short time.
He was a genuinely good guy and a super contribution to the Alter of Freedom.
I served with the FMF - First Mar.Div.
