Thank You

Dear WO Fred Fedder,
Thank you for your service as an Utility/Observation Helicopter Pilot with the 1st Cavalry. Another national holiday is coming, and we honor you this Labor Day. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Fred's Son

I am touched by these comments about my father, who I never knew. My name is Heath Fedder. If you knew my father and have a few minutes, please write me an email. Thanx.

Fellow Masher

I was in the flght the day Fred went down. We had broken the flight of 6 into two flights of 3 due to the size of the LZ. I was a fairly new guy, right seat. Sobering experience for all. What I recall most is after they figured out a maintaince failure caused the loss we developed a saying, All precision parts must be hammer fitted. Our maintaince was the best, the people did there best under demanding situations, but this one was a failure.
I am proud to call myself a Potato Masher, and I did and would again trust my life in the hands of our maintaince guys. We has a command failure.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear WO Fred Anderson Fedder, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
