High School German
I was in Herr Holmes German class at Somerville High and Lou sat across from me. He was studious and I took it easy I remember him getting irritated if I did not know the lesson we were given and then being surprised when I did the lesson completely. He thought I cheated so I swapped books with him and finished translating the entire text. I got to Nam before him and did 14 months and was a civilian by the time he was in country. He was an LT and I was a door gunner then a wrench turner in both the Central Highlands and then the Mekong Delta. I was in D Trp 3/5 Cav. A slow hand salute for a fellow member of the Calvary.
