Thank You
Dear Sp4 Jere Farnow,
Thank you for your service as an Armor Crewman with the 1st Crewman. Another national holiday is coming, and we honor you this Labor Day. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

A Childhood friend and Army buddy
I knew Jeri as growing up in Las Vegas, Nevada. He attended Las Vegas High School and I attended St Anne and Bishop Gorman High School.
We were drafted together in September 1966 and went through basic training together at Ft Ord, Ca.
I have also visited the Vietnam Memorial Wall 3 times and seached out his name.
I could not hold back the tears. I felt like he was there with me.He was a wonderful person.

Remembering Jere Farnow
I certainly remember Jere...my lifelong pal throughout grade school and much of high school..Jere was my neighbor on Peyton Drive in Las Vegas...and was just a wonderful friend and losing him was tragic. I once visited the Vietnam War Memorial with President George H. W. Bush and pointed out Jere to The President, and then I came back to my office in the White House and had a warm and memorable talk with his parents, Coleen and Doug. If anyone can send along information on where to find his living family, I can be reached at [email protected] Many thanks.
