You'd be 65 now, my dear boyhood friend
Russell: I did not know until now that you had died in service to our country so long ago. We were great buddies at Blessed Sacrament School, Class of '62. I will keep you in my prayers forevermore - just felt the need to look you up on the internet and I found you on the Wall. I have other friends there. I live close by in Virginia and I will visit you at the wall. I have many relatives at St.. Michael's Cemetery so I shall look for you there as well. My condolences long belated to your family and friends and brothers in arms. May you rest in the peace of the Lord.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Russell Thomas Fant, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Cousin
I have very fond memories of my cousin Russell before he went to war. I loved helping my mom make up packages to send to him. I tried to write him often and loved when I received his letters. I was heart broken when we received the news. He will never be forgotten.
