Inherited Band - Patrick M. Fallon
01-02-2025: 104 years after this man's birth, and 56 years after he was recorded missing, I wear his name.
I Inherited his name on a POW band from the 1980s in around 2017 and after that band shattered, I had another made just like it. I still wear it every second of the day regardless of circumstance in order to honor Col. Fallon. His memory has been my constant companion and serves as my memento mori as much as a hope that confirmation of his status is returned to his family so there can be closure on his case as well as for the countless others that were lost in Laos.
You are remembered.

My Adopted MIA
I saw the red bracelets as a child but never got one. A few years ago on a friends of veterans site I was looking for info on the air base Dad was at. Then I saw that I could get a bracelet. I waited to see whose story I would proudly share so they aren’t forgotten. Col. Fallon was his name and I researched him. From days in WWII and Korea to coming out of retirement to fly again in Nam. A few people notice the bracelet and ask but a Vet will see it and stop to chat. My love to the Fallon family.

Remembering!
8/31/2024 - Reading the Kristin Hannah novel "the Women" today. At the mention of the bracelets the name I wore on my wrist for many years came to mind without hesitation. 55 years and I still think of the many men and women of my generation that were lost and their bravery, patriotism and dedication. With deepest gratitude ... forever!

Now I know
I had a POW-MIA bracelet with Col. Fallon's name as an eight-year-old kid in Rochester, NY like many others who have posted here. Watching a PBS show jogged my memory of the bracelet and I am glad I now know more about the man and his service. I am so sorry for the family's and our county's loss.
