YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!

Dear Staff Sergeant Evilsizor ~ You Are Not Forgotten!
This is the 2nd year, on the anniversary of your passing, that I ran a mile with you in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace, Dear Brother.

Each year since September 2015, at the annual 5th Division Army reunion, members of the Society of the Fifth Division, U.S Army remember the 514 soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 5th Division, who were Killed in Action in Vietnam. You are among the soldiers remembered. You Are Not Forgotten!

Ft Dix, NJ 11/13/67-02/02/1968

I served in the US Army from 11/13/1967-11/13/1969.
Years later, I was saddened to learn that on the vey day I was discharged from active duty, Sergeant Evilsizor was Killed in action in Viet Nam.
Sergeant Evilsizor was the lead NCO basic training instructor for my platoon at Ft Dix, NJ that arrived there on Monday, 11/13/1967. He was a an outstanding soldier, perfectly groomed and tailored with a strong military bearing, but what what I truly remember about him most was his high character and his goodness and decency as a fellow human being.
For all of basic training, in the miserable conditions of that cold winter of 1967-68, he treated us new recruits with dignity and compassion. And he was the exact same person each and every day. My God Bless Ralph Evilsizor, and may he Rest in Peace.
