Christmas Eve 1969

Our family always went back to Madison for Church. That year we went without my dad, George. Dad served as an Honor Guard @ your funeral. I didn’t understand why. It wasn’t until I joined the Marine Corps that I fully understood. Joe, my husband also served in the USA - 25th Infantry Division!! I remember we were walking in the Black Earth cemetery when we found out grave & it read, “ 25th Inf Div”. You are sorely missed & Thank You!

Friend Who is Left Behind

Joe was my first and best friend at Wisconsin Heights High, 1966-1967. I still remember him like it was yesterday, hunting, school, or just riding around in what ever car his dad had supplied. Could be the 58 Pontiac, the old Plymouth, with the hugh fins, or even the Plymoth Valient with the 3- speed trans. We always had a great time driving around the Black Earth area, maybe a little fast, but we always got home OK. I just wanted Joe and his family to know that after 50 years he is not forgotten in my heart and he is still the young guy with his belt buckled on the side of his jeans, who left this old friend behind. May God Bless You All. Bob Gallien
