honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am heartened you returned home though I wish it had been under very different circumstances. May you rest in eternal peace.

Now I know
I wore a bracelet with your name when I was a teenager until it wore so thin it broke into pieces. I have never forgotten you and always wondered if you made it home. Sadly, now I know. You will never be forgotten.

I too wore a bracelet with your name as a 13 year old. I still have my bracelet and today, Memorial Day 2021, I especially remember you. You paid the ultimate price and while I can't thank you personally, I am forever grateful for that sacrifice and comfort and peace to your family for the pain they have endured throughout all the years. Always remember and always thankful.
