Remembering An American Hero
Dear CPL William Prescott Arthur, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

I'm Billy's first cousin.
I remember growing up with Billy. I was plating Little all stars game and after the game my dad told me what happen to Billy. Billy's dad was at Iwo when they raised the flag in WWII. I to am a Marine. I wished I had been able to see him grow up. Two weeks before he died, his daddy, my uncle wrote and told him to stop trying to be a hero and just come home. Part of my uncle Dub died that day. He and so many others never saw age 20. Young HERO'S! UUURAAA!

Little league baseball
I remember coaching Billy in little league baseball in Fitzgerald, Ga. He was one of my two best pitchers. He always had a smile. His dad was my assistant coach. We won that year thanks to Billy.
Living in Houston many years ago I went to see the wall and searched out his name. It hurt to see he was gone.
