Thank You
Dear Cpl Otto Ensslin,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I hate that you passed on your birthday, it is too sad. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

My Brother
Otto and I were best friends in Vietnam, we were in war zone D doing search and destroy. On 4-21-67 we were huddled up under a poncho and I sang him a very off key Happy Birthday. The next day we were scheduled for extraction from he area, the Huey arrived at our LZ,I was supposed to get on it, BUT our CO wanted a medic to stay behind,so Otto was sent on the Helo in my place. He and I were like brothers in Vietnam and to this day I wrestle with the fact that he got on that Helo instead of me! He holds a sacred place in our home and in my heart as a remembrance of that day. Tim Shook Combat medic,1st Plt, A co.
